Switchboard Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure proper functioning of hotel telephone equipment at all times and implement correct telephone operating procedures.
• Handle guest complaints and remarks and provide a response as soon as possible.
• Handle phone calls and forward messages received for guests.
• Record and give wake up calls.
• Use correct process and procedure when handling confidential guest information.
• Take down and relay messages.
• Keep abreast of new trends in telephone systems.
• Promote the range of hotel services to increase sales.
• Promote the loyalty programme, adapting the sales pitch to suit guest needs.

Requirements

• Confident, ambitious and self motivated individual.
• Fluent English (advanced reading, writing, speaking).
• Excellent communication and organizational skills and a good team player.
• Ability to be both proactive and reactive.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to find solutions.
• Able to cope with pressures of a very busy environment.
• Associate Degree or Bachelor's graduate.
