Kitchen helper

Northern Light Inn in L'Anse-au-Clair, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada is hiring a Kitchen helper at CAD 16.35 per hour for 40 hours per week. This is a permanent full time position with 2 vacancies, working early morning, morning, day, evening, night and weekend shifts, with overtime available, in a rural hotel kitchen setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Scour pots and pans
• Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs
• Clean and sanitize kitchens, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
• Handle and store cleaning products
• Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
• Remove kitchen garbage and trash
• Sharpen kitchen knives
• Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
• Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience is an asset
• Client-focused, reliable, dependable, positive attitude and a good team player with efficient interpersonal skills
• Criminal record check required
• Comfortable with physically demanding, repetitive work, handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods in a fast-paced environment under pressure
