Housekeeping room attendant

Strathcona Hotel of Victoria Ltd. in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada is hiring 3 housekeeping room attendants at $20.00 per hour (30 to 40 hours per week) for a permanent full-time hotel position. The LMIA for this role is approved, which is the main pathway for foreign workers to get employer-sponsored work permits. The role covers guest rooms and hotel facilities across day, evening and weekend shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Make beds, change sheets and distribute clean towels and toiletries
• Dust furniture and vacuum carpets, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture
• Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
• Clean and disinfect elevators, changing rooms and showers
• Stock the linen closet and pick up debris and empty trash cans
• Respond to guest requests for extra supplies and provide basic facility information

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related industry
• Reliable, punctual, able to act on own initiative
• Pass a criminal background check
• Work setting: hotel, motel or resort
