Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of workers, and supervise staff including apprentices, stage hands and design team members
• Assign duties to sales workers and establish work schedules
• Hire and train staff or arrange for staff training, and conduct performance reviews
• Sell merchandise, order merchandise and authorize the return of merchandise
• Authorize payments by cheque, manage cash and oversee payroll administration
• Prepare reports on sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
• Resolve issues such as customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
• Organize and keep inventory

Requirements

• Fluent in English
• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a related industry
• Able to supervise 5 to 10 people
• Knowledgeable about retail stores
• Accurate, client focused, organized, flexible, reliable, dependable and a good team player, with effective interpersonal skills, good judgement and the ability to multitask and act on own initiative
• Bondable, with a basic security clearance, criminal background check and credit check, as stated in the source listing
• Prepared for a fast-paced environment, working under pressure, manual dexterity tasks, long hours standing, bending, crouching and kneeling, and a smoke-free workplace
