Job Description
Almoayyed Solar is hiring a Draftsman – Civil in Manama, Bahrain to prepare accurate, construction-ready drawings for solar PV projects — rooftop, ground-mounted and carport installations. Working with engineers and the Sales and Projects teams, you will carry drawings from tender and design stage through to as-built and handover. No salary is stated in the ad.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare shop drawings, working drawings and layouts for installation crews per approved designs and project specifications
- Produce civil and structural drawings for solar projects: site layouts, mounting structure and roof layouts, foundation details, trenching and cable routes, fencing, roads and drainage
- Coordinate with engineers to verify design data and resolve discrepancies and clashes before issue
- Coordinate with electrical draftsmen to keep drawing packages consistent and clash-free
- Update drawings per client and consultant comments; maintain revision control, the drawing register and document numbering
- Support technical submittals including material approval documents and datasheets
- Prepare compliance statements against project specifications and flag deviations to the engineer or Divisional Manager
- Carry out quantity take-offs and assist in preparing BOQs for enquiries and tender proposals
- Support site surveys, verify measurements and interpret survey data
- Prepare as-built drawings from site mark-ups and support handover documentation
- Maintain CAD standards, templates, block libraries and the drawing archive with backed-up, retrievable files
- Ensure drawings comply with applicable codes and local authority regulations
- Follow company QMS procedures, health and safety rules and project confidentiality
Requirements
- Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering, Civil Drafting or a related field (a bachelor's degree is an advantage)
- 3–5 years of civil drafting experience, preferably in solar, power, construction or infrastructure projects
- GCC experience preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD (essential); Civil 3D or Revit an advantage
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Ability to read engineering sketches and survey drawings accurately
- Strong attention to detail, organization and time management
- Good written and spoken English; Arabic an advantage
- Familiarity with PVsyst or PV layout tools a plus
