Job Description

Responsibilities

Operate excavators and other heavy equipment to perform tasks such as digging, grading, and excavating.
Read and interpret blueprints and work orders to determine the scope of work and specifications for each project.
Inspect equipment regularly to ensure that it is in good working condition, and report any maintenance or repair needs to supervisors.
Follow safety procedures and protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment and safe operating practices.
Coordinate with other workers on the job site to ensure that work is being performed efficiently and according to schedule.
Keep accurate records of work performed, including hours worked, materials used, and equipment maintenance and repair activities.
Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as oil changes and filter replacements.
Operate equipment in a manner that minimizes environmental impact, such as avoiding damage to trees and other vegetation.
Use GPS and other technology to accurately measure and record excavation sites.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and other workers to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the desired specifications.
