A Personal support worker, nursing care opening is available in Chatham, Ontario, Canada at Maple City Retirement Residence. The role pays CAD 25.00 per hour for 30 to 40 hours per week on a permanent full-time basis, with 1 vacancy. The successful applicant will join the residence team and support residents with daily personal and patient care, working flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with bathing, dressing and grooming patients
- Serve meal trays and feed patients
- Take patients blood pressure, temperature and pulse
- Weigh, lift, turn and position patients as required
- Make beds and maintain patients rooms
- Supervise patients exercise routines
- Transport patients between care facilities, in a wheelchair or stretcher
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving and sterilizing operative areas
- Provide first aid when emergencies arise
- Perform other duties related to patient care, personal care and comfort
Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Dependable, organized, reliable and interpersonally aware
- Able to handle physically demanding, repetitive tasks and long hours standing, bending, crouching and kneeling
- No prior experience stated; the employer will provide training
